Fact Sheet
Red River Valley
Flowing water may have helped carve this Martian valley, named Kasei Valles, as it spilled into an ocean in the planet's northern hemisphere. The European Mars Express snapped this image of the mouth of Kasei Valles from an altitude of 169 miles (272 km). [Credit: ESA/DLR/FU Berlin (G. Neukum)]
