Fact Sheet
Hazy Skies
A purple layer of haze encircles Titan, the largest moon of Saturn, in this view from the orbiting Cassini spacecraft. Titan's dense, cold atmosphere is topped by organic molecules. This layer of "smog" may come from methane released into Titan's atmosphere by icy volcanoes. [Credit: NASA/JPL/SSI]
