Fact Sheet
Saturn Bound
Saturn is looming larger for the Cassini spacecraft, which will enter orbit around the giant planet on July 1. Cassini was about 40 million miles away from Saturn when it snapped this image, which was released last week. By comparison, the average distance between Saturn and Earth is about 865 million miles. The colors have been enhanced to emphasize cloud bands in Saturn's atmosphere. [Credit: NASA/JPL]
