Fact Sheet
Cracked Ice
Large cracks and ridges criss-cross the icy crust of Enceladus, one of the moons of Saturn, in this close-up from the Cassini spacecraft. Cassini flew just 730 miles (1,180 km) from Enceladus on February 16, transmitting the most detailed images of the moon to date. Enceladus is one of the brightest objects in the solar system -- almost as bright as new-fallen snow. [NASA/JPL]
