Fact Sheet
Martian Dust Storms
Three large dust storms swirl around the edge of the north polar ice cap on Mars. The largest storm is the textured yellowish patch to the lower left of the cap. Another swirls around a low-pressure system at the center of the image, while the third is a thin, curved streak at far right. This image was compiled from several pictures by the Mars Global Surveyor spacecraft. [NASA/JPL/MSSS]
