Fact Sheet
Hot Cloud
New stars are taking shape in 30 Doradus, a nebula in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a small companion galaxy to our own Milky Way. In this Hubble Space Telescope image, radiation from a large cluster of hot, blue stars (left center) is sculpting the gas cloud into fantastic loops and filaments. New stars are born in structures like the dark columns just to the right of the star cluster. [NASA/STScI]
