Fact Sheet
Pushing Away the Pleiades
The Pleiades star cluster glows brightly in this Hubble Space Telescope image, with wisps of gas reflecting the light of the young stars. Hubble observations indicate that the cluster is about 440 light-years from Earth, which is about 40 light-years farther than measurements made with a European satellite about a decade ago.
