Fact Sheet
Creamy Rings
The rings of Saturn shine in subtle shades of tan, yellow, and white in this image from Cassini, which was snapped shortly before the craft entered orbit. The white rings probably consist almost entirely of particles of frozen water, while the other rings contain varying amounts of rock, carbon, and other darker materials. [NASA/JPL]
