Looking for a Giant
Bands of clouds stand out in this Hubble Space Telescope infrared image of the giant planet Uranus. The rings around the planet are actually much darker than they appear in this computer-enhanced image. This week Uranus appears near the brighter planet Mars, which looks like an orange star in the southwestern evening sky. Because Uranus is so faint, you need binoculars to see it. For more on Uranus, read the entry in our **Solar System Guide.** [Credit: Erich Karkoschka, NASA]
