Fact Sheet
Going, Going, Gone
Phoenix, which landed on Mars in late May, has concluded its final days of operation. With the Sun sinking lower in the sky, and dust in the atmosphere blocking much of the remaining sunlight, the lander's solar cells cannot produce enough power to operate its instruments or keep it warm.
