Fact Sheet
Starry Web
A cluster of hot, young, blue stars stands near the center of the Tarantula Nebula, an immense cloud of gas and dust in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a small companion galaxy to our own Milky Way. New stars continue to take shape inside the dark blobs of cold gas, although energy from the newborn stars is blasting away some of the gas, limiting new star formation.
