An international team of astronomers last week announced the discovery of the 21st known moon of the planet Uranus, named S/2001 U 1. Like several other recently discovered moons, it is a small chunk of rock that follows an irregular orbit around the giant planet. Headed by Matthew Holman of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, the team used several telescopes over several months to find the faint moon. [P. Rousselot and O.
