Fact Sheet
Rocket Roll
Space shuttle Discovery rolls toward its launch pad at Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on Wednesday afternoon. It was bolted in place at pad 39-B a few hours later. Discovery is scheduled for launch in the latter half of May, almost two and a half years after the loss of shuttle Columbia during reentry into Earth's atmosphere. Veteran astronaut Eileen Collins will command Discovery's mission, which will ferry equipment and supplies to the International Space Station. [Credit: NASA/KSC]
