Fact Sheet
Etched Hourglass Nebula
Overlapping stellar winds and a faint companion star might have sculpted the Etched Hourglass Nebula, also known as MyCn18. The star that produced the nebula is a white dot just to the left of the central blue region. This HST photograph is a composite of three images shot through different filters. Red represents nitrogen, green is hydrogen, and blue is oxygen. (STScI)
