Shadowy Moon
The Moon turns shades of gold, orange, and red as it passes through Earth's shadow during Wednesday night's total lunar eclipse. The bright crescent at the top of the lunar disk in this image is still bathed in full sunlight. The shadowed portion is colored by sunlight filtered through Earth's atmosphere. [Credit: Tim Jones]
