Fact Sheet
The Voyage Continues
Voyager 2 celebrates a quarter-century in space this week. After flying past Jupiter and Saturn, the craft conducted the first encounters with the distant planets Uranus and Neptune. No other probes have visited these two planets, and no future missions are scheduled. Voyager 2 and its sister craft, Voyager 1, are both more than seven billion miles from Earth, and continue to transmit information about the remote reaches of our solar system. [Credit: NASA/JPL]
