Fact Sheet
Venus
Author and University of Colorado professor David Grinspoon has proposed that Venus, shown above in a composite, false-color image, may have been the most habitable planet in the early solar system. Life on Venus may have been possible four billion years ago when the Sun was about 40 percent cooler. Earth's sister planet may have had liquid oceans and a mild climate while Earth and Mars were probably frozen.
