Fact Sheet
Wrinkled Skin
Wide, deep cracks radiate along the icy surface of Enceladus, one of the moons of Saturn, in this August 11 image from the Cassini spacecraft. Liquid water squirts into space through the cracks, where temperatures are much warmer than the surrounding ice. Cassini snapped this image from a distance of about 3,000 miles (4,800 km).
