Fact Sheet
Glittering Galaxies
Several galaxies glitter in this recent Hubble Space Telescope image. The most intriguing part of the picture is a blue-white arc at the top of an orange-colored galaxy. The arc is actually a distant galaxy. The gravity of the closer galaxy acts as a lens, distorting the view of the more distant one. [Credit: NASA, ESA, J. Blakeslee and H. Ford (JHU)]
