Caddo Mounds Fact Sheet
Telling Time
The small cube of compacted soil that Sam Wilson is excavating is from an ancient hearth at the site. Later laboratory analysis will reveal when the hearth was in use, helping scientists understand the timeline of occupation at Caddo Mounds.
